40% of the peloton will ride on LOOK pedals during the next Grande Boucle
The countdown begins. In a few days, the streets of Copenhagen will light up with color as the Tour de France 2022 peloton sets out to storm three weeks of unforgiving racing. From the winds and cobbles of the North to the switchbacks of the Alps, from the steep climbs of the Pyrenees to the famous Champs-Élysées.
The history of LOOK Cycle has been intertwined with that of the Tour since the mid-1980s, when Bernard Hinault and Greg Lemond both won the yellow jersey using LOOK frames and pedals (in 1985 and 1986 respectively). 37 years later, we are proud to count 29 stage victories for our LOOK frames and 213 stage victories for our pedals.
In almost four decades, four great champions have climbed to the top step of the podium in Paris with LOOK pedals: Alberto Contador (2009), Oscar Pereiro (2006), Vincenzo Nibali (2014) and the Slovenian Tadej Pogaçar ( 2020, 2021), who will be looking to win their third consecutive title this year.
A CARBON BLADE TO FACE THE MYTH
This year, no fewer than eight professional teams will ride on LOOK KEO BLADE CARBON CERAMIC Ti pedals on French roads, i.e. 40% of the peloton. Among the riders, we will see among others Tadej Pogaçar (UAE Emirates), Enric Mas (Movistar) and Ben O'Connor (AG2R Citroën) competing for stage victories, distinctive jerseys and the final general classification.
Featuring a carbon body and a patented carbon blade, our flagship pedal is based on a titanium axle and a support surface of 700 mm2 to offer runners maximum stiffness, impressive power transfer and optimized aerodynamic profile. Ultra-light, each pedal barely weighs 95 g on the scale and has ceramic bearings for unfailing fluidity and longevity.
