"ULTRA-VERSATILE, AERODYNAMIC AND 100% CARBON."
Designed and developed with the French Cycling Federation and its athletes, the new 875 MADISON RS is an ultra-versatile, efficient and aerodynamic track bicycle with a 100% carbon frame and fork. Taking its name from Madison Square Garden, which itself was named after the 4th American President, James Madison, who organized the first 24-hour « indoor » races for teams of two.
LOOK CYCLE has proudly renewed its commitment to partner with Team LOOK Criterium. Guaranteeing another year of excitement and anticipation, the competitors will participate in ultra-technical and fast fixed-gear criteriums around the world.
Since LOOK’s beginning in the bicycle world when metals were king, our material of choice has always been carbon. For over 30 years LOOK has developed in its own factories a unique expertise and a vast know-how in the carbon field to reach specific desired properties.
LOOK has been a technical partner of the French Cycling Federation for over than 30 years, and has developed the 875 MADISON RS in close collaboration with its athletes. Designed and developed with and for its athletes, the aim was to make a high- performance, versatile frame with the goal of optimizing the performance of its teams for Tokyo.
The geometry of the 875 is completely new and perfectly complements the range of LOOK track products, namely the T20, R96 and AL 464. The 875 MADISON RS possesses a competition-inspired geometry that is available in 5 sizes, allowing each cyclist a perfectly adapted cycling position.
The frame and fork have been designed to be aerodynamic. The downtube has a NACA-constructed profile making it both both aerodynamic and oversized which gives it excellent rigidity, especially around the bottom bracket. The fork and chainstays also have an aerodynamic shape while remaining a reasonable dimension to maintain the products excellent versatility.
The 875’s carbon composition is made of a blend of different types of carbon fibers used in strategic locations on the frame. 20% of HM carbon (high-modulus) fibers are used to achieve the rigidity needed for track use. In general, a versatile track bicycle such as the 875 is 15% stiffer than a road bike frame.
IM (intermediate-modulus, 65%) and HR (high-resistance, 15%) carbon fibers complete this composition in order to provide the frame with the dependable tensile strength necessary for demanding track competition.
