A new legendary edition of the LOOK Marmotte Granfondo Alps

Bourg d’Oisans, 7 am on Sunday morning, deep concentration is easily read on all the faces at the starting line. 7,500 valiant warriors prepare themselves to face a mythical challenge, 174 km and 5,000 meters of climbing.
These 7,500 participants are here to stake their claim to a piece of the legend on a course that will take them over some tough cols, the Glandon (24 km/1,152-meter ascent), the Telegraph and Galibier (34.9 km and 1,924-meter ascent) before the grand finale up the 21 switchbacks of Alp d’Huez (13.9 km and 1,119-meter ascent).
In the world of cyclosportives, the LOOK Marmotte Granfondo Alps is the grandfather of them all that stirs a curious sentiment between respect and fear.
This Sunday morning, all the riders, amateurs and experienced alike, feel the weight of the same apprehension, and Kevin Ledanois (2015 U23 World Champion), would not say otherwise. This LOOK Marmotte Granfondo Alps is also the culmination of many weeks of training for our Granfondo team members. Our proud ambassadors came from France, Italy, the United States, Brazil, Australia, and Great Britain to discover the legend of the Alps. Not everyone made it to the end of the adventure, but every rider was able to push his or her personal limits, to live a unique moment shared around a common passion.
Under a gray sky, the day belonged to twenty-year-old Eddy Finé, one of the best Frenchmen of his generation. As is the case for those who finished, this year’s LOOK Marmotte Granfondo Alps is now part of a chapter in its history.
See you at the next rendezvous, the LOOK Marmotte Granfondo Pyrenees on August 27th.
