«Alpe d’Huez event was the first of its kind in France, and the same one that paved the way for the cyclosport phenomenon that we know today», explains the event organizer, Jean-Louis Bourdeau.
July 8 th, a few days before the passage of the Tour de France, 7,500 cyclists will face the course’s 174 km and 5,000 meters of climbing. First up is the Col de Glandon (24 km, 1,152 m), followed by the Telegraph that leads directly to the Galibier (34.9 km, 1,924 m), and to finish in a blaze of glory, the 21 switchbacks of Alpe d’Huez (13.9 km, 1,119 m).
The LOOK Marmotte Alps brings the major cols of the Alps, made famous by the Tour de France, together into one event.
«Participation in the LOOK Marmotte Alps was the culmination of several months of training.Riders evolve into a sublime state that pushes them beyond their personal limits. Finishing on Alpe d’Huez was just amazing, and I am proud to have been able to complete it», says Alexis, a 2017 participant.
This year, the LOOK Marmotte Series is hosting a new event, the LOOK Marmotte Valais in Switzerland.
