MATHILDE GROS – QUEEN OF EUROPE !
All cycling disciplines were brought together in Glasgow last week for the 2018 Multisport European Champs. The LOOK track team came home with six medals in total, yet it was Mathilde Gros who stole the show at the Chris Hoy velodrome. Just a few weeks after returning from Japan, the 19-year-old powered her way to bronze in the Individual Sprint. A few days later, she outclassed her rivals to take gold in the Keirin.
“It’s incredible! For me it’s a kind of revenge after last year, when I was beaten into fourth right on the line. But to be honest it hasn’t really sunk in yet.”
With two years to go until the 2020 Olympics in Toyko, Mathilde’s resume is already impressive, including three World Junior Titles, two podiums in the Sprint, and now the European title. She will be back on the track soon at the first World Cup event in Saint-Quentin en Yvelines, from the 19th to the 21st October.
