Introduction

This formation is managed Jean-René Bernaudeau who founded it in 2000 with the name of "Bonjour". There has been a succession of sponsors with EUROPCAR taking over in 2011.
Team policy is centred on training young professional riders. Europcar can recruit neo-professionals only from the amateur team Vendée U, the structure created by Jean-René Bernaudeau in 1991. 20 professionals have come from the ranks of Roche-sur-Yon pool of hopefuls, some of whom now wearing the Team Europcar colours. These include Giovanni Bernaudeau, Mathieu Claude, Damien Gaudin, Yohann Gène, Vincent Jérôme, Perrig Quemeneur, Sébastien Turgot and Thomas Voeckler.
2011 was to be a year marked by Pierre Rolland's superb Tour de France Alpes d'Huez victory, and for his Best Young Rider jersey. Memorable also were Thomas Voeckler's performances: he won the Tour du Haut Var, took two Paris-Nice stages, and enjoyed 10 days in the yellow jersey on the Tour de France.
Europcar is intending again to secure invitations to the world grand competitions so that they can measure themselves against the Pro Tour elite and to recreate their achievements of the previous year. Thomas Voeckler is still to be in the leader role; two new recruits Rafaa Chtioui and Davide Malacarne should also feature.
