This team was created in 1992 and took the AG2R name in 2000. Vincent Lavenu has been its Director since the beginning. Big world cycling names such as the Kazakh Alexandre Vinokourov and French Champion Christophe Moreau have made their mark there.
John Gadret was to take a stage victory and finish overall 3rd in the Tour d'Italie in 2011. Jean-Christophe Perraud was 6th in the Paris-Nice et 10th in the Tour de France.
This year the team welcomes a number of new arrivals. These include Italian sprinter Manuel Belletti and a "neo-pro" Romain Bardet, who came 2nd in the Liège-Bastogne-Liège Espoirs in 2011.
