Despite her late arrival on the international scene, this American multi-discipline Paralympic athlete has set new records both at national and world level. Following cerebral injuries sustained in a car accident, she participated in her first Paralympic cycling competition in 2007 and took one Gold and two Silver medals at the Beijing Paralympic Games in 2008. In 2009 she was crowned World Champion in 500m time-trial Track and the 3km Pursuit, and Road World Champion.
In 2011, she took two Pan-American Games Gold medals, one in the 500m time-trial and one in the 3km Pursuit.
She will try to qualify for the London Olympic Games in 2012 so as to defend her title.
