1999 : KG281 elected Bicycle of the Year
In the late Nineties, LOOK innovated the production of its frames and integrated considerable improvements in the design of the tubes. For example, the KG281, spearpoint of the 1999 range, is produced with tubes of different structures and variable thickness, with all the tubes different from each other depending on their place. They are reinforced in the heavy stress places (direction, saddle, pedals, back flaps) and lighter in the low stress places so they can reach a minimum weight for a desired rigidity. A true technological tour de force at the time, the production of a KG281 required a week's work.

Saturday’s Colorado Cross Classic at the Boulder Reservoir, recently devastated by the flooding in Colorado, started with an honor lap to Amy Dombrowski, who was killed while on a training ride in Belgium, this past month. After the honor lap, Caroline Mani (Raleigh-Clement) grabbed the holeshot, with Katie Compton (Trek Cyclocross Collective), Nicole Duke (Marin/Spy), Crystal Anthony (Optum p/b Kelly Benefit Strategies), and Meredith Miller (California Giant Berry Farms/Specialized).
