Cofidis has been revealed as one of the most promising French teams over these last few years.2011 was once more crowned by good performances. David Moncoutié had a victory in the Mediterranean Tour, his 4th consecutive Best Climber jersey in Spain's Vuelta. Estonian Time-trial Champion Rein Taraamae took out the Best Young Rider jersey in the Paris-Nice. And Tony Gallopin won the Flèche d'Emeraude at season beginning, and the PMU Coupe de France in October.Rein Taaramae will be team leader in 2012. First objective: podium place in the Paris-Nice. Astana gets its name from the Kazakhstan capital. The team is aiming to continue progressing the best riders in that country to an even higher level. Several top-level companies in this Central Asian country support this formation that benefits from having an experienced management team.Following a mixed 2011 season that nevertheless included four World Tour successes including Paris-Nice and Tour d'Italie stage victories, Astana will try to score in several areas in 2012. Astana has some new recruits joining their already promising team to make this happen. This Dutch professional team was created in 2005 under the leadership of Daan Luijkx, and became Continental Pro in 2009. Vacansoleil-DMC continues to climb up the ranks, achieving World Tour status in 2011.Its 2011 season count included more than twenty victories, showing that this Dutch team certainly deserved their place among the world elite. Team policy is centred on training young professional riders. Europcar can recruit neo-professionals only from the amateur team Vendée U, the structure created by Jean-René Bernaudeau in 1991. 20 professionals have come from the ranks of Roche-sur-Yon pool of hopefuls, some of whom now wearing the Team Europcar colours. Primal/MapMyRide Professional Women’s Racing not only facilitates a way for cyclists to race professionally, it provides a needed resource to female cyclists. Our goal is consistent with any team, we want to win but we also want to compete and gain experience with other teams at the highest level. We also want other women to have the same access to this level of competition. Great competition is the fuel for any sport. We realize that it takes a collective of professional athletes and their teams to bring a product that is fun for spectators to watch and is also beneficial to its patrons. To increase participation of women in cycling and to support women’s racing, we want to present a team system that can be easily replicated by companies around the globe. This system not only allows racers greater opportunities, but also offers advantages for organizations and corporations to get involved. The Erdgas team 2012 is an association of Saxony, in Germany, the aim of which is forming young talents and to professionalize them. Starting from the admission that German track cycling suffered by comparison with the leaders of the discipline, such as France, Great Britain or Australia, past athletes supervise a team of gifted and ambitious young people with the objective of taking them to the OG of London in 2012 and to come back with at least one medal from there. Under the leadership of the coach Ralph Müller, past champion, who will bring his know-how and his strict training methods, In June, 2010 the team received its professional status on track and became member of the UCI. Despite her late arrival on the international scene, this American multi-discipline Paralympic athlete has set new records both at national and world level. Following cerebral injuries sustained in a car accident, she participated in her first Paralympic cycling competition in 2007 and took one Gold and two Silver medals at the Beijing Paralympic Games in 2008. In 2009 she was crowned World Champion in 500m time-trial Track and the 3km Pursuit, and Road World Champion. In 2011, she took two Pan-American Games Gold medals, one in the 500m time-trial and one in the 3km Pursuit. François Chabaud has one of the longest lists of French awards on long distance triathlon. He began triathlon at the age of 15 following a television report on the Ironman of Hawaii. The two objectives that the VENICE LOOK-BEAUMES team for the 2011 season have been achieved as follows: - The team was classified 5th overall in the Team French Trophy of 66 teams, and also had good individual results: Laura Charles took out the Coupe de France general classification, with two victories on the St Raphael and Super Besse rounds. Hopeful Marvin Gruget came within the ten best French for his first year as a hopeful, to cite only that. - Following good results in 2010, the second objective fixed by the team was to reach the highest level, that is international level with obtaining U affiliation, the team has thus moved its riders to some world cup rounds. For 2012 the objectives are again to figure among the 5 best French teams and count again among the UCI teams.
