Cofidis
In the course of these last years, Cofidis has shown itself as one of the most promising French teams.The 2010 season was crowned by nice victories: Julien El Fares won early in the year the 4th stage of the Mediterranean Tour and Sebastian Minard the Paris-Camembert race. On the international level, Damien Monier won the 7th stage of the Italian Giro, Kalle Kriit, became Road Champion of Estonia and finally David Moncoutié became famous in the Vuelta by winning the 8th stage and the Jersey of the Best Climber for the 3rd consecutive year. In 2011 the northern team will welcome four neo-pros:Adrien Petit (BC Nogent-sur-Oise), Yoann Bagot (BC La Pomme), Nicolas Edet (Véranda Rideau Sarthe) and Florent Barle (BC Aix-en-Provence). The double Road Champion of Latvia and MTB ALEKSEJS SARAMOTINS (HTC TEAM – Columbia) also joined the team as well as the Time Trial Champion of France, Nicolas Vogondy (BBox). David Moncoutié, the Belgian Jens Keukeleir, the champion of Estonia, Kalle Kriit and his compatriot, Rein Taaramäe, remain the pillars of the team. Stephane Augé, with Cofidis since 2005, leaves the pack to become Team manager in 2011, together with Didier Rous, newly arrived from B-Box. The Cofidis team is invited to take part in Tour de France 2011 as well as in the Paris-Nice race. Cofidis will run this year on the latest LOOK bike, the 695 SR, that includes several worldwide innovations, and on the brand new Keo Power. The 596 will still be used for time trial races, on which the runners will also use the Keo Blade Aero, the very first pedals exclusively devoted to stopwatch races. The Astana team draws its name from the capital of Kazakhstan and has the objective of continuing to progress up to the highest level of the best runners of the country. Several leading companies in the Central Asian country support the team, which benefits from the coaching of an experienced team. Katusha is a Russian professional cycling team. It appeared under this name in 2009, succeeding the Tinkoff Credit Systems team. The team is part of a structure supported by the Russian authorities and include female and masculine teams in several cycling disciplines. At the end of brilliant 2010 season, it ranks 5th in the worldwide UCI classification, thanks to many victories of Joaquim Rodriguez, who won among others the Tour of Catalonia, as well as a stage of Tour de France and one of the Vuelta. AG2R LA MONDIALE (UCI World Tour)
Team created in 1992 that took AG2R's name in 2000. They will be 30 for this 2011 season to dress the vest AG2R La Mondiale. The team reinforced itself in the field of sprints with the arrivals of Bellis, considered to be the future Mark Cavendish and Juke Kocjan, victor of a stage on Tirreno-Adriatico. Giovanni Visconti will be there to bring in victories, he totalled 23 in 2010. Finally 3 promising young runners will be expected this season: Fabio Felline, a very complete Italian runner, Paavo Paajanen, spotted in elite 2 for his ease on pavements and finally the Frenchman Alexander Geniez, good in time trials and in climbing. For the big tours the team renews its trust in Nicolas Roche, Alexander Efimkim, John Gadret and Tadej Valjavec who were very satisfactory. Giovanni Visconti will be keen to make Nocenti be forgotten during the classics. On pavements Sebastian Hinault will try to get good places by notably being backed up by the Finnish Paavo. The mission of the Vacansoleil Cycling Team is resumed in the slogan “sport, transparent and ambitious”. The team is made up of a combination of gifted and experienced Dutch runners as well as runners of other countries. The General Manager Daan Luijkx is in charge of an ambitious three-year plan.This ambitious plan materializes by:A professional organisation: as associate of an accounting office with two offices, Daan Luijkx has the experience of firm management through culture, of structure and of finance. Favoured by his past as a professional cyclist, of financial inspector of professional cycling teams and by his function of manager of a continental team, he knows how a cycling team should be managed in the 21st century.The people employed by the Vacansoleil Pro Cycling Team are a mixture of young people and of seniors who bring their experience of the world of cycling and of business. A contribution to new cycling: the team has complete knowledge of initiatives to be taken in its activity so that cycling is again considered to be honest and credible sport. This becomes a reality, for example, by the internal control programme to which cyclists are periodically subjected and entrusted to an independent laboratory, a charter of medical ethics signed by all runners and staff and membership in the biological passport of the UCI. A participation in at least one big tour: with good cycling performances, the runners wish to distinguish themselves and put their team forward. With the current organisation and the runners, the team has the conviction of already being ready for a big tour. World Tour en 2012. Future World Tour in 2012: during the next three years, the team wants to achieve the top of Continental Pro teams. In partnership with the EUROPCAR brand since 2004 (Europcar is the #1 European car rental service); the training is managed by Jean - René Bernaudeau.Sure values compose the team: Thomas Voeckler and Anthony Charteau.Besides having one of the best lists of winners in France, Thomas is a charismatic runner whose moral values of discipline, of team spirit and of generosity reflect the quality of sports performances. Last year by winning the climbers jersey in the Tour de France, Anthony as for him showed that the French did not have to blush in this field and that nothing was impossible. The team also counts a good group of “classics” who are going to continue maturing with notably Sebastian Chavanel and Saïd Haddou as well as very promising runners such as Cyril Gautier or Pierre Rolland. 2011 objectives: The main objective in 2011 is to register the Europcar Team in the worldwide hierarchy and to aim at the first division for 2012. This means winning races and victories to be had. A French continental team created in 2005 under the name of Bretagne-Jean Floc’h, it was renamed Brittany Armor Lux in 2007 before becoming Bretagne-Schuller in 2009. Team Erdgas 2012
The Erdgas team 2012 is an association of Saxony, in Germany, the aim of which is forming young talents and to professionalize them. Starting from the admission that German track cycling suffered by comparison with the leaders of the discipline, such as France, Great Britain or Australia, past athletes supervise a team of gifted and ambitious young people with the objective of taking them to the OG of London in 2012 and to come back with at least one medal from there. Under the leadership of the coach Ralph Müller, past champion, who will bring his know-how and his strict training methods, In June, 2010 the team received its professional status on track and became member of the UCI. Sylvain Sudrie
Initiated to the practice of triathlons at the age of 16 by his brother, Sylvain Sudrie shows talents and very quickly becomes in 1999 younger Champion of France. Since then he accumulated victories in France and abroad, and he became in 2010 the Long Distance World Champion. In 2011, he will try to pass on to an Ironman format, and his final objective is winning the Ironman World championship in Hawaii. Sylvain is with the Beauvais Triathlon Club. Helle Frederiksen
It is after having had her Masters in Physical education and Nutrition at the University of Copenhagen that Helle decides to devote itself at full time to the triathlon. From 12 to 18 years, she was part of the Danish national Swimming team, and took part in her first triathlon in 2004, which she won. François Chabaud
François Chabaud has one of the longest lists of French awards on long distance triathlon. He began triathlon at the age of 15 following a television report on the Ironman of Hawaii. Attracted by this new sport, he decided to begin on short distances. It is only at the age of 25 that he can finally take part in major races that he dreamed about so much. Since then, he took part again and again in the mythical Ironman of Hawaii. Charlotte Morel
A young triathlete of 22, Charlotte began triathlons in 2003. She comes from a sportsmen's family and practiced swimming and cross-country running since her childhood. Trevor Delsaut
Trevor Delsaut, young student member of the club of La Rochelle Triathlon, started in cycling at the age of 13 and advanced rapidly up to junior. He turns towards triathlon after a passage to the Lagardère Club in Paris. He specialised in average and long distances and took part in 2007 in his first major competition where he accomplished a very good performance. In 2010, he took part in his 2nd Ironman of Hawaii and made a big hit: 22nd off scratch, 1st of his age group, and new amateur record of the event. He passed professional in 2011; he will take part in his first French Championship LD and would like to finish Hawaii in the Top 15. Look Beaumes de Venise
The LOOK Beaumes de Venise team will in 2011 celebrate its 16th anniversary and pass to a new stage this season for it will appear among the UCI’s 22 international teams. A part of the team will thus travel for some sets of the world cup.
